Bukan Cuma Asal Klik 'Generate' Ya Kawan!
Berarti tinggal tidur beres dong?'. Well, kawan, aku jelasin ya.
Kenapa?
HAHAHA!
Tau gak fakta menariknya? Penerjemah kelas dunia di industri lokalisasi komersial pun udah banyak yang pake MTPE (Machine Translation Post-Editing) untuk ngejar target perilisan barengan sama rilis gamenya (Simul-release). Cuma bedanya mereka jaim aja dan gamau ngaku translasinya dibantu AI gara-gara takut dapet kritik negatif dari purist. Padahal mustahil banget ngejar load kerjaan puluhan ribu baris per hari kalau bener-bener cuma ngetik manual dari nol sambil buka kamus kertas, kawan. Mari kita sikat semua game pake subtitle karya anak bangsa!
The Philosophy of Human-in-the-Loop Localization
People often ask if my work is 'just' AI-generated, as if I just hit a 'Translate' button and then went out for coffee. The reality is far more complex and rooted in a deep, long-standing passion for Natural Language Processing (NLP). Let me peel back the curtain for a moment. My workflow centers on 'Supervised Training' to create a 'Distilled Model' specifically for game localization. I’ve been elbows-deep in deep learning for data analytics since 2021, long before the current AI hype cycle took over social media. While many IT professionals back then were still stuck in classic K-Means or basic linear regression, I was experimenting with how neural networks could decipher the nuance of slang and conversational registers. This project isn't about using a public tool; it's about building and fine-tuning an private ecosystem tailored to our specific regional linguistic needs. Every line you read in my mods has been through multiple internal filters and checks that I designed from scratch.
I proudly label this process as a hybrid of AI-efficiency and manual translation soul. We employ a rigorous 'Human-in-the-Loop' (HITL) system, which is anything but lazy. It involves an exhausting cyclic process: the custom model generates a base, then a human (usually me or a core collaborator) painstakingly corrects the mistakes, the stylistic mishaps, and the awkward phrasing of hundreds of strings per session. That corrected 'gold-standard' data is then re-ingested into the specialized, smaller models for another round of training. Over thousands of cycles, the AI starts to naturally mimic my specific vocabulary, tone, and humor. Currently, about 70% of the initial raw output now mirrors the aesthetic choices and natural flow of a human translator. It’s a master-apprentice relationship where I am the master and the AI is the incredibly fast apprentice who eventually learns to paint just like me. This is why the 'robot' feeling in our mods is almost non-existent compared to standard MTL projects.
Stop looking at AI as the enemy that will replace your creativity. AI is a power tool. You can either learn to exploit its features and achieve a symbiotic productivity that allows you to translate massive RPGs in weeks instead of years, or you can become irrelevant. It’s like the horse: once essential for travel, it was eventually replaced by the engine. Don't be the out-of-work horse clinging to the past. Adapt or be left behind! HAHAHA!
A little trivia for the skeptics: nearly every professional, high-stakes translation firm globally today utilizes some form of MTPE (Machine Translation Post-Editing). They are just rarely transparent about it because they want to justify high prices and preserve the illusion of a 100% manual process to appease 'purist' clients. But in the real world of game localization, where tight deadlines meet massive word counts, machine assistance is unavoidable. The difference between us and them is our transparency and the fact that we use specialized gaming models, not generic corporate ones. We should embrace these cutting-edge algorithms to bring the stories we love into our own languages with high-fidelity accuracy. My goal is to use this technology to ensure no gamer is left behind by a language barrier, regardless of how niche the game is. If we can reach a level where we can localise 50 games a year with the quality of one, everyone wins. Join me in the frontier of localized AI development—the view is incredible! Thanks for trusting my process.
